North Georgia Junior Bass Anglers
By-Laws
Established 2007
Junior Club Purpose
The general purpose of the junior chapter club is to promote and encourage youth fishing through education of sport ethics, sportsmanship, fishing techniques, and conservation of our natural resources.
Requirements of Membership
1. You must be at least 9 years old and no older than 18 years old.
2. Maintain passing grades and give a copy of grades to tournament director at meeting prior to any activity the individual plans to participate.
3. Individuals must attend one meeting with parent or guardian in order to understand the by-laws, expenses and commitment involved with being a member before participating in the clubs activities.
Membership Dues
The dues shall be $5.00 per member for the TBF membership and $10.00 per monthly meeting. (Payable whether attended or not.)
Junior Meetings
The North Georgia Junior Bass Club will meet the Second Monday of the month. In case of a holiday the meeting will be backed up by one week.
Club Tournaments
1. Tournament competition will be divided in two age groups. 10-14 and 15-18. These ages must comply with future TBF and FLW rules and regulations.
2. There should be at least 3 tournaments scheduled each year. A yearly point system will be used for a year-end championship and to determine individuals to advance to the State Top 6.
3. Tournament competitors that wish to leave early must make prior arrangements to have fish weighed or they must return the fish to the water.
4. Tournament competitors that agreed to fish and cannot must inform his/her boater and Tournament Director.
5. All competitors must follow state laws on measurement of bass. There is a paper fish that will be kept up by the adult boater.
6. The North Georgia Junior Bass Anglers tournament and its participants can not be committed to another tournament being conducted at the same time.
7. Times and locations will be set by the Tournament Director.
Conservation/Awareness Event
This club will organize and put into action. With help from the adult members a conservation/awareness event once a year. Individuals that participate in this event will receive bonus points to the year end standings.
Tournament Rules
1. You can only weight in five (5) bass at the end of the tournament.
2. Weight in only Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Redeye Bass, Shoal Bass, Coosa Bass, and Smallmouth Bass.
3. All Bass must be caught with artificial baits ONLY.
4. All Bass will be measured with the mouth closed.
5. Non-Swimmers must inform their boater and must keep a life-jacket on at all times.
6. All competitors must bring their own life jacket and tackle.
7. If you are going to be late for the tournament call your Tournament Director.
Tournament Awards
1. Ten (10) Points will be awarded for each meeting attended.
2. Ten (10) Points will be awarded for each tournament fished.
3. One (1) Point will be awarded for each ounce of bass weighed-in.
4. Two (2) Points will be awarded for each live bass released.
5. A Maximum of two dead fish can be weighed in. 1st dead fish on penalty, 2nd dead fish is a (8) point penalty to the days catch.
6. A (5) Point penalty for having a fish under 12 inches at the weight-in.
7. Bonus points considered for Year-End standings only. Bonus points have no effect on individual tournament outcome.
8. Conservation/Awareness Event- individuals that participate in the event will be awarded fifty (50) Points.
North Georgia Junior Bass Club
Board of Directors
1. President- Will run all meetings and conduct all business.
2. Tournament Director- Conduct weight in process at each tournament.
3. Secretary- Will keep all minutes at the meeting.
4. Treasurer- Will be handled by North Georgia Bass Anglers adult member.
5. Club Chaplin- Will have a prayer before the meeting and the tournament start.
Junior Bass Club Elections
1. Election will be held annually.
2. Elections shall be by majority of the members present.
3. Each member is entitled to one vote. Proxy vote is not permitted.
Each term of office is for one year. We vote in December and runs through January of the following year.
In the event an office becomes vacant. An election will take place to fill the position until end of term.
Eligibility for Holding Office
1. You must be a member for six months.
2. Have attended 75% of all club activities.
3. Be in good standings with the club. ( Dues Current)
4. Maintain good grades in school.
Causes for Removal of Membership
1. Failure to Pay Dues. ( 3 months)
2. Failure to participate in 50% of club activities.
3. Any Action that would dishonor or disgrace the North Georgia Bass Anglers, The North Georgia Junior Bass Anglers, and FLW/TBF.
